PART 2: “They’re outside.” The boutique door creaked open behind them— And footsteps echoed in…

“They’re outside.”

The boutique door creaked open behind them—

And footsteps echoed in.

Part 2

The door opened slowly.

Two men stepped inside, their eyes scanning the shattered glass, then locking onto the girl.

She flinched.

“That’s them…” she whispered.

Leon didn’t hesitate.

“Come with me,” he said, pulling her behind the counter and toward the back room.

“Call the police,” he ordered his staff quietly. “Now.”

The men walked deeper into the store.

“Where is she?” one asked coldly.

No one answered.

In the back room, Leon knelt in front of the girl. “Who are they?”

“They took my mom,” she said, barely able to speak. “She told me to come here if anything happened… she said you would understand.”

Leon’s heart pounded.

“What’s your mother’s name?”

The girl swallowed.

“Anya.”

Leon froze.

Years ago, Anya had worked for him—quiet, loyal… and suddenly gone without a trace.

Now he understood.

She hadn’t left.

She had been running.

Leon stood up, his expression hardening. “Stay here.”

He walked back into the showroom.

The men turned immediately.

“You’re hiding someone,” one said.

Leon met their gaze. Calm. Controlled.

“You’re leaving,” he replied.

The tension snapped.

One of the men stepped forward—

But suddenly—

Sirens screamed outside.

Blue lights flooded the glass walls.

Police stormed in within seconds.

“Don’t move!”

The men were forced to the ground, handcuffed before they could react.

Silence followed.

The nightmare ended as fast as it began.

Leon exhaled slowly.

Then he turned and walked back to the girl.

She stood exactly where he left her, clutching her backpack.

“Is it over?” she asked quietly.

Leon nodded.

“Yes.”

Her legs gave out, and she collapsed into him, crying.

“I didn’t know where else to go…”

He held her tightly.

“You came to the right place.”

Later, at the station, the truth came out.

Her mother had been gathering evidence against those men—risking everything to expose them.

The note… was her last chance to save her daughter.

Leon sat beside the girl as the first light of morning appeared.

“You’re safe now,” he said.

The girl looked up at him, fear slowly fading.

And for the first time since the glass shattered—

She smiled.
