Donald Trump Jr. sparked intense backlash online after posting a birthday message for his daughter, Kai Trump, that unexpectedly ignited controversy across social media platforms.
The tribute was originally intended to mark Kai’s 19th birthday and featured a collection of private family snapshots along with a heartfelt note from her father.
“Happy birthday to my favorite 19-year-old girl. I love you so much and I continue to be amazed by the strong and incredible young woman you’re growing into,” Trump Jr. captioned the photos.
But despite the heartfelt message, the internet immediately focused on one specific photo from the collection.
Out of the 14 images included in the post, the most controversial showed Kai posing in a bikini beside her father — and the reaction online exploded almost instantly.
Critics flooded the comments section accusing Trump Jr. of sharing an “inappropriate” image, especially given the family’s constant public attention and political visibility.

One commenter wrote that posting a bikini photo of his daughter beside him was “a terrible decision,” while others described the upload as “tone-deaf” and “unnecessary.”
Some users argued the post exposed Kai to even more online scrutiny and negative attention at a time when she is already growing up in the public eye.

Kai Trump, the oldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and his former wife Vanessa Trump, recently finished high school and is preparing for her next chapter at the University of Miami, where she intends to continue developing her ambitions in professional golf.
