These Lizards have a variety of colouring, which differs from brown with yellow and black patterns. They have many spikey armours and if they are afraid they curl up to protect their body. They can stay like that for about an hour. This system helps them to protect themselves from reptiles, such as snakes big birds and mongoose. They also spend most of their time sunbathing.
They feed with insects. They are living in large families and hide under rock crevices in South Africa’s desert to protect themselves from predators and rough environment.
They can live for about a decade and doesn’t breed by lying eggs. They are usually three to four inches long, but some of them may grow to eight.
