Our heroes, a married couple with two children, had always dreamed of a perfect home where everything was just right for their needs. But with the reality of the property market and their budget, they had to get creative. They bought an old flat and decided to completely redecorate it.
This is what their flat looked like before the renovation.
By coming up with the design themselves and doing the renovation, they put a part of their soul into every detail. However, they did ask for help with some tricky tasks like replacing pipes, windows, and electrics. The flat was a modest 46.6 square meters, but the family managed to turn this space into a cozy home. The entrance hall, which was the starting point of this transformation, was changed beyond recognition.
Compact yet functional, it became the perfect lobby for welcoming guests.
A wardrobe made by the husband and a stylish stool restored by the wife added a unique charm to the hallway.
By redesigning the kitchen and living room, the owners created a spacious and bright area where each element had its own special place.
The kitchen had a corner set with snow-white cabinets, a contrasting backsplash of white tiles, and a yellow refrigerator (actually white, but covered with yellow film), creating a unique style.
The living room, combined with the kitchen, became a place for family gatherings and relaxation. A workspace with an Ikea chest of drawers, a yellow sofa, and a TV area created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
The bedroom was divided into two zones. A wooden partition, shaped like a fence, separated the adult bedroom from the children’s room.
The bathroom was also transformed into a functional, stylish, and comfortable space.
What do you think of the final renovation? What did you like, and what could have been done differently? Personally, we found the decision to make a partition between the bedroom and the children’s room in the form of a fence the strangest.
