On December 29th, model and businesswoman Emma Heming Willis shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, marking 17 years of marriage to actor Bruce Willis. The post featured a sentimental photo of the couple holding each other on a beach, with a sunset in the background.
Emma reflected on the anniversary, acknowledging the mix of emotions she now feels. “Anniversaries used to bring pure joy,” she wrote. “But now, they stir up a range of emotions—anger, grief, and confusion. I give myself 30 minutes to process it all, and then I choose to focus on the love we have. I’m so grateful for our time together, and despite everything, I’d choose this life again without a doubt.”
In 2022, Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that forced him to retire from acting. Later, it was revealed that he has frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a condition that impacts brain function.
Since then, Emma has been open about her struggles and become an advocate for families going through similar challenges. In March 2023, she shared an emotional message about her experiences, admitting she had spent much of Bruce’s birthday in tears. “People tell me I’m strong, but the truth is, I don’t have a choice,” she said, also mentioning the responsibility of raising their two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, aged 12 and 10. Emma stresses the importance of cherishing each day and living in the present, despite the tough road ahead.
