As children, many of us dreamed of finding hidden treasure. For one man, who shared his story under the nickname October75 on Reddit, that dream became reality.
A few years ago, his mother passed away, leaving him their old family home. The house had been standing empty for nearly fifty years, and he had never set foot inside it.
After officially becoming the owner, he decided to visit the place. When he stepped through the door, what he saw left him stunned.
In the large hallway, shelves were filled with countless shoe boxes. There were men’s, women’s, and children’s shoes—boots, sneakers, and dress shoes from well-known brands.
The man knew that his family had once owned a shoe store in the mid-1900s, but he had no idea that so much stock had been left behind and stored in the house.
The store was called First Class Shoe Store. When he opened the boxes, he found that most of the shoes were still in excellent condition, as if they had just come from the shelves. Only the rubber soles had become a little stiffer with time.
At first, he had no idea what to do with this unexpected collection. He even considered turning it into a museum dedicated to vintage shoes.
Eventually, collectors became interested in his find. He sold a few pairs to them, and later, he made a deal with a company that specializes in vintage clothing and accessories. They bought about a hundred pairs from him.
What started as an ordinary visit to an old house turned into a discovery that not only surprised him but also connected him to his family’s past in an unexpected way.
