“She ended up in the hospital — and recorded her podcast from the bed” 😳🎙️ Christina Applegate’s painful health scare revealed more than anyone expected… and the raw photo says it all. See it in the article below 👇📸
Christina Applegate recently revealed on her podcast MeSsy that she was hospitalized for a week after experiencing severe pain caused by a kidney infection. The 53-year-old actress recorded the August 5 episode from her hospital room in Los Angeles, sharing details of the health scare.
It began during a family trip to Europe, where she felt waves of stomach pain. On her flight home, the pain worsened, and instead of risking a middle-of-the-night emergency, she checked herself into the hospital and insisted on full testing.

“I told them, ‘I want every test you can think of,’” she said. That night, the pain spread from her back to her abdomen. A CT scan revealed a serious kidney infection that had started on one side and spread to the other, requiring IV antibiotics. Doctors believe it began as a urinary tract infection.

Though the infection explained some symptoms, doctors are still exploring other possible causes. Applegate admitted it’s been emotionally tough, describing moments of crying in nurses’ arms and joking about “bedrotting” — lying in bed all day with ice and TV for comfort.
She was discharged after a week and is now recovering at home, but her stomach problems remain a “work in progress.”

This comes as she continues to battle multiple sclerosis, which she revealed in 2021. MS affects the brain and spinal cord, causing chronic pain, muscle weakness, and difficulty with balance. Applegate says she often avoids social events and isolates at home due to daily pain and spasms.

In 2023, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, calling it both a beginning and a possible end to her acting career. On the set of Dead to Me, her symptoms required special accommodations. She’s unsure if she’ll act again, saying, “I don’t know who will be as loving and understanding as that team was.”
