Could Carrie Bradshaw’s chapter be closed for good? With the third season of And Just Like That—the Sex and the City spinoff—ending on Max earlier this month, showrunner Michael Patrick King has admitted he doesn’t have additional stories planned for Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic character. Even so, producers say “the door remains slightly open.”
“Because she’s here, it’s something that could still happen. Sarah Jessica Parker remains Michael Patrick King’s muse, and he often says, ‘I’ve walked away before and found my way back,’” explained producer Elisa Zuritsky in a recent interview.
According to producer Julie Rottenberg, despite the conclusion, the creative team continues to jot down possibilities for where Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte’s journeys might head.
Zuritsky admitted she doesn’t like to put a final stop on long-term projects: “Life is long. We’ve all seen how much can still happen.”
For now, the saga of And Just Like That seems complete. But die-hard fans of Carrie Bradshaw know one thing for sure — in television, you should never say never.
