At 39, Lady Gaga is no stranger to the spotlight, but her recent performance in her hometown of New York carried a deeper meaning. Before stepping on stage during her Mayhem Ball tour, the singer revealed that her fiancé, 41-year-old Michael Polansky, gave her a heartfelt push of encouragement.
“I remember fighting so hard for my dreams, for what I believed in, and for myself,” Gaga told the crowd. “Before the show, I was with my friend Chyna, and I said, ‘I think I can blow this show away, because in New York I always fight with everything I’ve got. I deserve it, and I have to go for it.’”

The response from her friend left a lasting impression on her: “Sometimes you don’t need to fight. Sometimes you just need to show up.” Gaga admitted that her fiancé had often told her the very same thing.
“Right before I walked on stage, my fiancé Michael said to me: ‘When you go out there, let them fill you.’” she revealed, holding back emotion as the crowd cheered.

For Gaga, New York remains more than just a hometown — it’s the place where her artistry was born. “I know my albums wouldn’t have come to life without New York. This is dedicated to each of you and the dreams you chase, to remind you that maybe sometimes you don’t need to fight — you just need to go.”
