Want to add a little glow to your summer evenings? Head to your local dollar store, grab a few plastic bowls, and you can create these whimsical lights for just a few dollars.
What You’ll Need
- Large clear “crystal” punch bowls
- Smaller colorful bowls (I used blue)
- Adhesive
- Heat tool or soldering iron
- Fairy lights
- Optional: cake tray base, silk flowers, or ivy for decoration

How To Make Them
Step 1: Use a heat tool to melt a hole in the bottom of the smaller bowl. Then use that as a guide to cut a matching hole in one of the larger bowls.

Step 2: Apply adhesive around the edge and press the bowls together. Use a heavy book to help the glue set. You can combine bowls in different ways for unique shapes.
Step 3: Create stacks by attaching pairs of bowls together — I loved mixing clear and blue ones.

Step 4: Tape the end of your fairy lights to the inside of the top bowl, then stuff the rest evenly throughout.
Step 5: Stand your light up on a cake tray base and hide the battery pack underneath. Add silk flowers or greenery around the bottom for an extra-pretty finish.

The Result

In no time, you’ll have magical glowing towers that are perfect for garden parties, alfresco dinners, or any summer night gathering. They’re simple, budget-friendly, and almost addictive to make!
