Tom Cruise is showing a very different side of himself at 64. The Hollywood star has landed the cover of GQ’s October issue, posing for a striking new photoshoot tied to the upcoming release of his latest movie, “Digger.”
For the cover, Cruise left his shirt wide open, exposing his bare chest while wearing a pair of tight-fitting jeans. The relaxed, revealing styling immediately put the focus on the actor’s appearance and physique.
Other photographs gave the shoot a completely different flavor. Cruise swapped the open shirt for a simple white T-shirt and jeans, finishing the look with a cowboy hat and delivering a rugged transformation in front of the camera.
The new spread arrives ahead of “Digger,” a satirical comedy directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu. Cruise takes the leading role as a powerful businessman whose actions trigger a global catastrophe.
His appearance in the movie, however, will be dramatically different from the man seen in these glossy photographs. To become the character, Cruise underwent an extensive transformation using elaborate prosthetic makeup.
The effect is reportedly so dramatic that the famously recognizable actor becomes almost impossible to identify. Between his revealing new cover and startling movie makeover, Cruise is giving audiences two completely different versions of himself at 64.
