The Japanese squirrels are so amazing and incredible creatures. When you look at these tiny and fluffy creatures a smile appears on your face.
These ivy beauties live on the islands of Kyushu and Honshu in Japan, but they can also be found in Siberia and even in some regions of Europe.

There are many subspecies of these squirrels, but the Siberian and Japanese rodents have such a charming appearance. These cuties are distinguished by their black eyes in the form of round beads and the printed wool of a light shade. They are simply created to be photographed, but the animals don’t really like posing for the camera and their excessive mobility makes this task a real quest.

Rodents are active mainly at night and this also makes it rather difficult to photograph them.
Unlike their other fellow tribesmen this species of squirrel doesn’t hibernate, but sometimes in winter they sleep for several days in a row.

These cuties are sometimes even called the “flying squirrels”, but don’t let the name of the species mislead you. These squirrels are literally unable to fly. They move through the trees from branch to branch with the help of leather membranes which are placed between their hind and front legs.
