Policemen stopped traffic to rescue frightened, lost dog

A German shepherd was lost on a busy road Interstate 495 in Massachusetts.

According to state police, who shared this encounter on Facebook, the lost, scared dog was hanging precariously in the road, when officers arrived.

And when they wanted to take Lexi out of the road, the aberrant animal returned into the rush of traffic.

And it was time for some thoughtful actions, three police agencies decided to cooperate: Massachusetts State Police, officers from the Methuen Police Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Firstly, traffic was stopped.

Then all of them went to Malachy Higgins’ granola bar.

Lexi went in the direction of granola bar so terribly, she jumped on the cruiser, dropped officer’s coffee and turned on the police siren.

Soon, Lexi was reunited with his owner in Methuen.

“I also have a dog, and I couldn’t imagine what I would feel if my dog got lost”-told Higgins.

“I have a wife and a baby, and I can imagine how stressful it would be for them if we lost him.”
