Until recently, Halle Berry hadnāt had much luck when it came to relationships.
The actress has been married three times, but each ended on a sour note, leaving behind more bad memories than good. Even her relationship with Gabriel Aubry, the father of her 15-year-old daughter Nala, didnāt go smoothly.
Ever since they split, Aubry has been trying to get as much financial support from Halle as possible, claiming itās for their daughterās expenses. The two share joint custody of Nala, but their financial disagreements have dragged on for years.
After a lengthy legal battle, Halle has finally managed to put some limits on Aubryās demands.
When they first separated, the court ruled that she must pay him $16,000 a month in child support. But that wasnāt the only obligation. She was also required to give Gabriel 4.3% of any earnings she made above $1.95 million per year.
Given that Halleās average pay per movie is around $10 million, this meant a significant amount of additional payments. From the beginning, Halle felt this arrangement was unfair, and she decided to fight for her right to keep the money she worked hard to earn.
In 2021, she succeeded in reducing her monthly payments by half, bringing them down to $8,000.
And now, after years of back-and-forth in court, she finally achieved another victory. A limit has been set on any extra payments she has to make. No matter how much she earns, she wonāt have to pay more than $109,000 a year in additional support to Aubry.
