Imagine living in a Boeing 727… this guy actually did it! 🫢✈️ He bought the plane for $100,000, moved it into the woods, and turned it into his home 😱 But that’s not all—inside, you’ll find the original bathroom, seats, and even a working washing machine and sink! 😲 It’s not just a house, it’s a whole new way of living. You’ve got to see this in the article below to believe it ⬇️
Bruce Campbell, a 64-year-old retired electrical engineer, has always had a creative streak. When he was younger, he bought ten acres of forest land near Hillsboro for about $23,000, with a clear goal in mind: to turn an old airplane into a one-of-a-kind home.
Campbell has always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together, giving them new life.
Originally, he planned to build a house out of old, abandoned shipping containers. But when he heard about a Mississippi hairdresser named JoAnn Asseri, who had turned a Boeing 727 into a home, he changed his plans.
Asseri had decided to live in the airplane after a fire destroyed her home, setting it up next to a river. This idea inspired Campbell to take his project to the next level.
In 1999, Campbell bought a Boeing 727 from Olympic Airways for $100,000 and brought it to the woods in Oregon.
Shipping the plane from Greece added about $120,000 to the cost, but Campbell believed the investment was worth it.
Today, the inside of the airplane is fully equipped with everything Campbell needs: the original bathroom, some seats, a washing machine, and a sink.
Even though the plane offers a lot of space, Campbell lives simply—his kitchen has just a microwave and a toaster, and he mostly eats cereal and canned food.
While living in an airplane isn’t for everyone, Campbell’s project is impressive. His original and ambitious idea has turned out to be a real success!
