A couple decided to escape the noise and rush of city life by buying a small piece of land in a peaceful, beautiful area.
Although their dream of building a house seemed far away and complicated, they came up with an unusual but practical plan to start. Instead of spending money on a big construction project, they bought two old cabins.
At first, the cabins were only meant to be a temporary solution. They didn’t plan anything too big, just a place to move away from the city and enjoy nature.
But as they worked, the couple realized that it was possible to turn these simple cabins into a comfortable living space.
The first step was to install a sewage system and dig a well, so they wouldn’t depend on city services. Soon, they began to focus on making the inside more comfortable.
Even though the cabins were small, the couple managed to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. They used light colors for the walls, simple yet stylish materials for the floors and ceilings, and furniture that made the space feel warm without crowding it.
Although the cabins worked well for them, they realized they couldn’t live there long-term, especially with kids. It was perfect for the first few months, but they knew they needed something bigger and more permanent.
They started planning for a new home, and after thinking it through, they decided to build a house from shipping containers—a better fit for their long-term living plans.
In the future, they plan to turn the cabins into a guest house.
