It seems genetics favors shorter individuals, as people of exceptionally tall stature are far rarer. But true giants do exist — and one of the most remarkable is Sultan Kösen, a man officially recognized as the tallest person in the world.
Standing at an astonishing 2.51 meters (8 feet 2.8 inches), Sultan holds the global record for height. Finding clothes his size is impossible in regular stores, so he works with a dedicated team of tailors to have everything custom-made.
Thankfully, doctors were eventually able to stop his growth, something Sultan is incredibly grateful for. Life at that height comes with serious challenges — from navigating cities not built for such size to needing support to walk. Today, he relies on specially made canes to move around more comfortably.
Despite his fame, Sultan lives a humble life as a farmer. His extraordinary height actually helps — picking fruit from tall trees and managing large fields is easier for him than most.
