They Look Like Toy Houses on the Outside—But the Inside of These Styrofoam Homes Will Stun You

The Japanese have started building houses out of Styrofoam, and from the outside, they look almost too simple 🏠🙈 But once you step inside, the clever design and surprising comfort will change everything you thought about home construction—take a look in this article! ⬇️

Owning a home is a dream for many people, not only in our country but all around the world. However, the Japanese have come up with a very unusual solution to this problem. They have started building and selling houses for less than $2,000! The secret is… Styrofoam.

According to local media, this lightweight and seemingly fragile material is now competing with brick and concrete. The trick is to coat it with a fireproof compound. Building one of these houses takes less than 2 hours, and they are expected to last for over 300 years!

The Styrofoam walls are finished with putty, and round windows are cut out with a power tool. The dome shape of the houses was chosen based on scientific research—it is more resistant to earthquakes, which are common in Japan.

The creators of this idea admit that not many people have bought these houses yet. Styrofoam still has to earn people’s trust.

Personally, I think these houses look very cozy! What do you think?
