It was in the 1940s that she built a career as an actress and dancer. The number of the films that she starred in exceeded 60 making her the most glamorous screen idol of the 1940s. Her name also appeared in the top of list of the stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. She achieved overall success and recognition for her appearance in «Only Angels Have Wings», «The Strawberry Blonde» and «The Lady from Shangai».

She even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star called F. Astaire her most favorite dance partner with whom she made films «You’ll Never Get Rich» and «You Were Never Lovelier».
