“Move over, Taylor — there’s a new billionaire queen in town” 👑 Someone just knocked Swift off the youngest female billionaire throne — and the way she did it might shock you. She made her fortune from a company she no longer works at. Curious how that’s even possible? Full story in the article below 👇
Taylor Swift is no longer the youngest female billionaire on the Forbes list. That title now belongs to Lucy Guo, a tech entrepreneur who made her fortune in artificial intelligence.
Forbes now estimates Lucy’s net worth at around $1.25 billion. After the news came out, Lucy responded on her blog, saying, “I don’t really think about it that often—it feels kind of unreal.”
Lucy helped start Scale AI when she was just 21 years old, working alongside 19-year-old co-founder Alexandr Wang. Lucy focused on the design and how the product worked. In 2018, both of them made it into the Forbes Under 30 list. But not long after, the two had different ideas about how to run the company. Lucy left the team, but she stayed on as a co-founder and kept her shares.
She later created a new company and started spending time at high-profile events. Now, she’s often seen in celebrity circles and is known to be friends with the Beckham family.
Lucy is one of just six women under 40 who became billionaires on their own. What makes her story even more unique is that most of her money came from a company she hasn’t worked at in years.
Before Lucy, Taylor Swift had been the youngest female billionaire. She reached that milestone thanks to the huge success of her Eras Tour and even passed Rihanna in the rankings. In fact, Taylor became the first artist to make it to the billionaire list mainly through her music and performances.
By the way, in 2024, the wealthiest woman in another country was reported to be the founder of a major online retail company, with a fortune of $5.5 billion.
