The much-anticipated James Bond reboot is stirring buzz — and not only due to the switch in its leading man. Reports suggest that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is eyeing his wife, Lauren Sánchez, for the role of the next Bond Girl.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish Venice wedding this June, and now, insiders claim Bezos is eager to see Sánchez take on a starring role in Amazon MGM’s upcoming 007 film.

“He’s obsessed with the idea,” a Hollywood source revealed. “This isn’t just a fantasy — Jeff wants her on screen at any cost.”

While Sánchez has never acted, insiders describe her as Bezos’ muse. And after spending $8 billion to acquire MGM Studios in 2021, the billionaire has the means to influence casting decisions in a big way.

It’s still possible that Sánchez (or even Bezos himself) could settle for a brief cameo, similar to Elon Musk’s appearance in Iron Man 2. But if Lauren lands a major role, it could spark one of the most controversial casting moves in Bond history.

The reboot, tentatively titled Bond 26, will be the first in the franchise since 2021’s No Time to Die, which starred Daniel Craig. The film is set to be directed by Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, with a script by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

Potential candidates for the role of Agent 007 reportedly include Harris Dickinson, Jacob Elordi, Regé-Jean Page, Tom Holland, and others. But with Bezos’ influence in the mix, the final choice might not come down to the usual casting process.

The premiere of Bond 26 is currently slated for 2028 — and if Bezos gets his way, this could be the most talked-about Bond film in decades.
