Instead of issuing statements or defending herself, Serena Williams chose action.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion recently faced criticism after appearing in a Super Bowl commercial promoting a GLP-1 treatment — a medication originally developed for diabetes that is also associated with weight management. Serena has openly said the therapy played a role in helping her lose more than 13 kilograms over the past year.

The response online was swift. Some fans argued that promoting a medical weight-management treatment felt uncomfortable coming from such an iconic athlete. Others questioned the message it might send.
Serena didn’t engage in the debate.

Instead, the 44-year-old shared a video of herself training on a pole, confidently performing spins and lifts. Wearing short athletic shorts and a sports bra, she revealed toned legs and a visibly slimmer waist. There was no dramatic styling — just strength, balance, and control.
In the caption, she wrote that she was back to working out on her “two favorite pieces of equipment.”

Back in August 2025, Serena admitted that after welcoming her second child, she struggled to return to her previous weight. For the first time, strict workouts and careful nutrition weren’t producing the results she was used to.
“I had never been in a position where I couldn’t lose weight despite putting in the work,” she shared in an interview.

She explained that she began the medical treatment only after finishing breastfeeding her youngest daughter, Adira. According to Serena, it helped regulate blood sugar levels and improve cholesterol, alongside supporting her weight goals. She has repeatedly emphasized that she has always relied on discipline and effort, not shortcuts — which made the plateau especially frustrating.
Now, rather than stepping back from the spotlight, she’s leaning into it — showing strength, flexibility, and confidence without saying much at all.
