An electrician in Cochise County, Arizona, became an unexpected hero after rescuing a bear that had climbed a power pole and found itself in serious danger.
The incident happened when the animal managed to climb up the tall utility pole, putting itself at risk of electrocution. Realizing the situation could quickly turn deadly, lineman Werner J. Neubauer stepped in to help.

Before approaching the pole, Neubauer first made sure to shut off the electricity running through the lines. By de-energizing the system, he removed the immediate threat that could have seriously harmed the animal.
Once the lines were safe, he carefully approached the pole while keeping a safe distance. Using a long stick, he gently encouraged the bear to move downward instead of climbing higher.
The moment required patience and calm movements. The goal was to guide the animal away from danger without frightening it or causing it to panic.
Neubauer’s wife, Tina, captured the entire rescue on their phone.

Eventually the bear slipped down from the pole and safely reached the ground. For a brief moment it paused nearby, even approaching another pole.
But this time, the animal decided against climbing again and wandered away from the area unharmed.
The unusual rescue quickly caught attention online, with many viewers praising the calm and careful way the electrician handled the situation.
