Bruce Willis, the once high-flying Hollywood star, was recently spotted in Los Angeles, offering a glimpse of his life amidst his ongoing struggle with frontotemporal dementia.
The 71-year-old actor, whose career came to a halt as a result of his diagnosis, was seen in public for the first time in a long while. Paparazzi snapped photos of Willis on April 1, sitting in a black SUV with a close friend driving.
Dressed in a light gray t-shirt and a dark blue jacket, Willis appeared in high spirits as he sat in the passenger seat of the vehicle, chatting away with his companion, a childlike innocence on his face as he smiled broadly. Despite the weight of his condition, the actor seemed to be enjoying the sunny, warm day in the company of a friend.
That same day, it was also a family celebration. Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, shared a heartwarming post for their daughter Mabel, who turned 14. The former model posted a nostalgic photo of the family, showing Bruce and her giving their daughter a loving kiss on the cheek. Emma also shared how Mabel celebrated the day—sailing with friends and family on a yacht in the afternoon and enjoying a small dinner celebration in the evening.
“Just like that! Mabel is 14!” Emma wrote joyfully. The couple also has a younger daughter, 11-year-old Evelyn. Bruce’s family has rallied around him ever since his diagnosis, with his three daughters from his previous marriage to Demi Moore—Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 32—remaining close by his side.
Since being diagnosed with the incurable illness in 2022, Bruce has been living in a single-story home near the family’s main mansion in Los Angeles, specially adapted to his needs. He is cared for by medical staff around the clock. Emma has also been raising awareness and funds through her charitable foundation, The Emma & Bruce Willis Fund, which supports research into frontotemporal dementia and helps families facing similar challenges.
On March 19, the Golden Globe winner marked his birthday, and Emma shared a photo of him enjoying a yacht ride. On March 21, they celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, with Emma posting an archival photo of the couple from happier, healthier times before Bruce’s diagnosis.
