Nicole Kidman Trades Red-Carpet Glamour for a Sweater and a $40,000-Plus Family Escape

Nicole Kidman left Hollywood glamour behind for a very different kind of luxury. The actress shared photos from an Icelandic getaway on August 18, showing herself surrounded by dramatic northern scenery while traveling with her sister Antonia and daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

The first image hardly looks like a carefully staged celebrity shoot. Kidman leans casually against a boat railing with Iceland’s moody landscape stretching behind her. Instead of an elaborate designer look, she wears jeans and a loose, comfortable sweater. Her naturally curly hair is also on full display, immediately attracting compliments from fans, with one comparing the look to “vintage” Nicole Kidman from the 1990s.

The relaxed appearance, however, came with some serious luxury. Kidman revealed that the family traveled with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and described the Iceland adventure as a “trip of a lifetime,” adding that she loves the country.

The photographs offered glimpses of exactly what that experience involved. Beyond the spectacular coastline, there was time to unwind in a hot tub directly on the yacht’s deck, surrounded by the stark Icelandic landscape.

That level of comfort comes with an equally impressive price tag. A five-night voyage departing Reykjavík starts at around $10,400 per person based on two guests sharing a suite. Using that rate purely as an estimate for Nicole, Antonia and the two girls, the total would reach roughly $41,600, or around €35,000.

Yet the photos themselves are surprisingly understated considering the potential cost. There are no extravagant gowns or flashy red-carpet poses. Instead, Kidman appears with loose curls, jeans and an oversized sweater, enjoying quiet moments with her family against one of the world’s most striking landscapes. It was undeniably a luxurious escape—but the images suggest that privacy, relaxation and family time were the real indulgences.
