Today, I’ll tell you a simple way to clean the outside of a frying pan or pot when grease and soot just won’t come off. If you cook on a gas stove often, you know how quickly cookware gets covered in stubborn grime that regular washing won’t remove. Scrubbing with a metal sponge isn’t a good idea either—it can scratch the surface. But there’s a trick that will make your pan look almost new in just ten minutes. The only downside is the strong smell, so be prepared for that.
For this method, you’ll need a grease-removing alkaline cleaner, protective gloves, and a well-ventilated area, preferably a balcony or an open space. The smell from the cleaner reacting with burnt grease can be quite strong, so it’s best to do this outside.
First, heat the pan on the stove. To check if it’s hot enough, sprinkle a few drops of water on the surface. If they instantly evaporate, you’re good to go.
