The bill came, and I froze—water drained faster than I thought, money slipping away 😳😢 I did one simple thing, and by the end of the month, the numbers dropped hard 🫢 Saved 10 cubes, and it’s staying this way. Told about the way below 🔥👇
Recently, I started paying more attention to the size of our utility bills, especially after I noticed that the amount of water we use is much higher than normal.
On average, a person usually uses about 5 cubic meters of water per month, but our numbers were much bigger.
It all began when I wrote about my experience contacting the water company because of a bill mistake. The bill said we had used 140 cubic meters of water in one month.
The company fixed the error, and it turned out our actual usage was 47 cubic meters. Still, that seemed like way too much for a family of three.
I kept thinking about it and decided to check the water meter myself.
I chose a simple method: I memorized the last digit on the meter, poured three liters of water into a jar, and checked the reading again. The meter worked properly.
But while doing this, I noticed that the water pressure in our apartment was very strong. This made the water flow faster than we needed.
I decided to reduce the pressure by turning the taps halfway. It didn’t affect our daily routine, except that it took a little longer to fill the bathtub.
A month later, I checked the results. We had used 37 cubic meters of water. That’s still a lot, but it was better than before.
I’m still trying to figure out how to get our usage down to 5 cubic meters per person. Someone told me that partially closing the valves could make them wear out faster, but I’m not sure if that’s true.
I’d love to know what your water usage is like. How many cubic meters per person do you usually get? Share your experience in the comments.
