Turning 2️⃣9️⃣ square meters into two rooms sounds unreal, but this makeover proves otherwise! 🔄🏡 The smart design makes this tiny apartment both stylish and functional 😍 You have to see it to believe it — photos in the article ⬇️
This small apartment was originally a simple one-room space built back in 1964. Its owner, Katie, decided to give it a complete makeover, and the end result is truly impressive.
From old to new: how it all began
When Katie bought the apartment, it was in very poor condition. But that didn’t scare her at all!
Even without any experience in design or renovation, she chose to plan and decorate everything herself, without hiring a professional designer. This approach not only helped her create her dream home but also saved a lot of money.
Planning: how to fit everything into a small space?
To see how Katie made everything fit, you need to look at the new floor plan.
The main idea was to combine the kitchen and living room and create a separate area for the bedroom. In just 29 square meters, she managed to fit:
– a full living room
– a cozy sleeping area
– a small workspace since she sometimes works from home.
Smart renovation ideas
To make the space feel bigger and brighter, Katie removed the wall between the kitchen and living room. She also replaced part of the wall between the kitchen and bathroom with glass blocks, which allowed more light into the bathroom.
In the kitchen, the unique design of the backsplash and range hood immediately catches the eye. Katie ordered special tiles with different patterns to make it stand out. In the living room, she painted one wall blue to match the kitchen tiles, creating a nice flow between the spaces.
The sleeping area is tucked away behind sliding glass doors. Some might think this is a strange choice, but it actually helps save space. Even with the small size, there was enough room for a TV and bookshelves.
The bathroom got a big upgrade too. Katie chose a shower instead of a traditional bathtub, and the wall was replaced with glass blocks to let in natural light from the kitchen.
Not everyone might like this layout, but it’s hard to deny its advantages. Katie’s approach was both creative and practical, making the apartment functional and stylish. The attention to detail, like the custom tiles in the kitchen, adds a lot of charm to the space.
It’s a great example of how even a small apartment can become comfortable and modern!
