I tried this powder on my daffodils and tulips, and the result was unbelievable! 🌼 🌷 The blooms turned out long and lush 💐🌿 I share the secret fertilizer in the article below 👇
I want to share my experience of how I managed to make my tulips and daffodils bloom much longer than usual. The secret turned out to be in garden diatomite – a natural fertilizer made from the shells of tiny ancient algae called diatoms.
Diatomite is a porous material that becomes a fine powder when ground. When added to the soil, it slowly releases nutrients that help the roots grow better and encourage more blooms. Powdered diatomite works especially well because it mixes faster with the soil, providing flowers with useful elements like silicon and iron.
A few years ago, my neighbor gave me a little diatomite. At that time, I didn’t realize how useful it was and just sprinkled some around my tulips and daffodils. The results were incredible! The flowers in those spots had bigger buds and bloomed much longer than the others.
Since then, I always use diatomite every spring. I add about a teaspoon of it to each plant as soon as the snow melts. The wet soil helps to carry the nutrients quickly to the roots, making the flowers bloom beautifully for a long time.
This simple trick has really transformed my flower beds, and I recommend trying it if you want to keep your spring flowers bright and blooming for longer!
