At first, the shower stall seemed like a great idea—now we wish we never got rid of the bathtub

🚿 After two years with a shower stall, we regret our decision! 😤 It seemed like a great idea at first, but reality turned out to be quite different 😡🤦🏻‍♀️ Now, we wouldn’t take one even for free! What went wrong? I share all the details in the article 👇

A few years ago, during our apartment renovation, my wife and I decided to replace our old bathtub with a shower stall. At first, this seemed like a great idea—more space, a modern look, and added convenience.

However, after installing and using it, we faced several unexpected problems that made us rethink our decision:

Removing the bathtub turned out to be a tough job. The old tub was incredibly sturdy, and getting it out was much harder than we expected.

Tile installation took several days. Since I had no prior experience, the process was slow, and despite our efforts, the shower leaked during the first test run.

Water pressure issues quickly became apparent. The faucet we installed wasn’t the best quality, and adjusting the temperature was a hassle.

The shower size was uncomfortable for me, even though my wife had no complaints.

Glass cleaning became a daily chore. Water spots and soap residue were constantly visible, making the stall look messy unless cleaned after every use.

The shower door started sticking within a few months due to worn-out rollers, making opening and closing frustrating.

The overall stability of the stall wasn’t as solid as we had expected, making it feel less secure than our old bathtub.

After dealing with these issues, we ultimately decided to reverse our decision and reinstall a bathtub. Had we known all the complications in advance, we would have simply upgraded the old tub instead.

What about you? Have you ever made a renovation decision you later regretted?
