Many believe animals don’t really help each other, but a story from a small Dutch farm proves otherwise. As reported by some sources, a surprising moment was caught on a security camera — a goat and a rooster working together to save a chicken from a hawk attack.
The video shows a chicken peacefully resting on the grass when, all of a sudden, a hawk swoops down and starts attacking it, pulling at its feathers. But just seconds later, a rooster rushes in to help. Right after that, a goat named Bruin also joins the rescue.
Thanks to their quick actions, the hawk is forced to back off. Even after the hawk lets go of the chicken, the rooster and the goat keep chasing it away until it finally flies off, empty-handed.
The 59-year-old farm owner, Jaap Beets, heard the noise and came outside just in time to witness the whole thing. He shared that while there are plenty of predators in the area, this was only the third time in seven years that something like this had happened.
Jaap also said it’s not the first time his animals have looked out for one another. In the past, turkeys and goats have also stepped in to protect smaller chickens.
