While renovating their home, an Italian family stumbled upon something completely unexpected.
After selling their apartment in the city, they moved to the countryside, looking for a more budget-friendly and eco-friendly lifestyle.
They chose an old, two-story stone house that was still strong despite its age. Wanting to make it their own, they started renovating right away.
During the work, the builders noticed something strange about the stairs leading to the second floor — the steps were hollow. Curious, the family checked it out. To their surprise, there was a hidden room underneath the staircase.
No one had any idea it was there. The house had been empty for a while and passed through different owners, so no one really knew who built the secret space or why it was hidden. At first, the room looked like a forgotten storage space full of random things and dust.
