At nearly 66, Jennifer Grey just reminded everyone exactly why the world once fell in love with her. A fresh set of beach photos shared from her tropical getaway shows the former “Baby” from Dirty Dancing looking toned, relaxed, and undeniably confident in a bikini.
For many, she will always be the young woman who danced barefoot across the Catskills alongside Patrick Swayze. The 1987 classic became a cultural landmark, turning Grey into a global star and earning her a Golden Globe nomination. Baby and Johnny weren’t just characters — they became a generation’s fantasy.
Yet the success of the late ’80s never quite repeated itself in the same way. Born in 1960 in New York into a family of performers, Grey’s breakthrough came early. But as she later admitted, her distinctive look sometimes limited the roles offered to her. In the 1990s, she made the life-changing decision to undergo a nose job — a choice she has described as both personal and professionally complicated. After the surgery, even close friends struggled to recognize her.
Still, she kept working.
Grey appeared in films such as Wind and Keith, took on television projects, and in 2010 made a surprising and triumphant return to the spotlight by winning season 11 of Dancing with the Stars in the United States. Her dancing skills were very much intact. In recent years, she has also been seen in the series Red Oaks, as well as in films including Bittersweet Symphony and A Real Pain, which was filmed in Poland.
Now, another major chapter is approaching.
Grey is set to return to her most iconic role in a long-awaited continuation of Dirty Dancing. This time, she is not only stepping back in front of the camera but is also involved as an executive producer. Speaking about revisiting Baby after decades, she admitted she often wondered what her character’s life would look like years later.
“I’ve thought for a long time about what Baby’s life would be like after all these years. I can say it looks like the wait is almost over,” she said in an interview.
While anticipation builds for the new film, her recent beach photos have sparked their own wave of admiration. In a simple swimsuit, without theatrical styling, she looks fit, natural, and comfortable in her skin.
On March 26, Jennifer Grey will celebrate her 66th birthday.
And judging by the reaction online, many believe she’s entering this new era stronger than ever.
