Cindy Crawford marked daughter Kaia Gerber’s 25th birthday with a deeply personal trip down memory lane. The ’90s supermodel celebrated her only daughter by opening up the family archive and sharing a rarely seen photograph from Kaia’s earliest years.
One of the pictures shows Kaia at around one year old, long before she followed her famous mother onto the runway. Crawford paired the childhood throwback with a much more recent image of mother and daughter posing together in similar evening gowns covered in shimmering sequins.
The photos came with an emotional birthday message. “Happy 25th birthday to my not-so-little-anymore Kaia! You are wise beyond your years and full of compassion, kindness and love. Watching you become the beautiful woman you are today is one of the greatest blessings of my life. I am always proud of you,” Crawford wrote.
Kaia is the daughter of Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, and fashion became part of her life remarkably early. She made her runway debut at just 10 years old and eventually built a successful modeling career of her own.
By 25, Kaia had already worked as a face for some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, including Chanel, Prada and Versace. But she didn’t limit herself to modeling and gradually began establishing herself as an actress as well.
Her screen credits include appearances in “American Horror Story” and “Palm Royale.” Yet on her milestone birthday, it wasn’t another glamorous campaign or acting role getting the attention — it was the intimate glimpse of Kaia before fame that her mother decided to share.
