Harry and Meghan Share Rare New Video of Archie and Lilibet — And Immediately Face Backlash

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing fresh criticism after offering another rare glimpse of their children. Following Meghan’s return to the UK, the Duchess of Sussex shared new family footage featuring Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five — prompting questions about how the couple balances privacy with sharing their family life publicly.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield accused the couple of contradicting their own position on privacy. She argued that repeatedly sharing glimpses of their children, pets, countryside surroundings and everyday routines inevitably creates more interest in the very private life they have frequently sought to protect.

“If privacy truly matters to them, the simplest way to demonstrate that is to stop putting their family life on display for millions of strangers,” Schofield said. She added that every new glimpse encourages more questions and greater curiosity about what happens behind closed doors.

The commentator also pointed to Meghan’s previous warnings about the potential dangers social media can pose to children. Although Archie and Lilibet’s faces are generally kept hidden, Schofield argued that this does not completely shield them from the public attention generated whenever their images or videos are shared.

She also directed criticism toward Harry, noting that the prince has spoken extensively about how intense media attention affected him during his own childhood. In her view, that history makes the decision to share pieces of his children’s lives particularly controversial.

Royal commentator Tom Sykes raised similar concerns. He suggested the latest video presented an image of an idyllic family life and questioned whether Archie and Lilibet needed to be included at all.

The criticism has reopened a familiar debate surrounding Harry and Meghan: where exactly should the boundary fall between sharing carefully controlled family moments and protecting their children from public scrutiny? Their latest video may conceal much of Archie and Lilibet’s identities, but it has still managed to put the Sussex family back at the center of attention.
