Sienna Miller expected nothing more than a quick family moment at the London premiere of “War.” Instead, a few seconds beside her 14-year-old daughter Marlowe were enough to trigger a wave of online attention that the actress says neither of them saw coming.
Marlowe hadn’t actually accompanied her mother along the entire red carpet. She arrived with a friend, while Sienna’s mother was also at the event. At one point, the teenager briefly stepped over to give Sienna a hug — and photographers captured them together.

Those pictures quickly spread across social media, with much of the conversation focusing on Marlowe’s appearance. “I slightly regret it because I didn’t expect — and I don’t think she expected — that it would cause such a reaction,” Miller admitted during an interview with SiriusXM.

Sienna could still joke about suddenly becoming the less interesting person in the photographs. “She totally overshadowed me,” the actress said. Behind the humor, however, was genuine concern about how quickly public attention had landed on her teenage daughter.

Miller knows that pressure particularly well. She spent years experiencing intense attention from tabloids and paparazzi herself, and watching a similar spotlight suddenly turn toward her child left her uncomfortable.

The actress called Marlowe “extraordinarily beautiful,” but immediately made clear that appearance is far from what she considers most important about her. “That’s probably the least interesting thing about her,” she said, describing her daughter instead as intelligent and funny — and reminding everyone that she is still “my little girl.”
As for another mother-daughter red carpet, Sienna isn’t rushing to repeat the experience. “I don’t know if we’ll do any more red carpets,” she admitted, before joking that she might send Marlowe “to a convent for the next four years” until she is actually an adult.
