Jane Fonda Is 88 — but Her Wild Paris Runway Dance Had People Forgetting Her Age

Jane Fonda may be 88, but anyone expecting a quiet, cautious appearance from the Hollywood legend got exactly the opposite in Paris. She stepped onto the runway near the Eiffel Tower in glittering red — and ended up turning the fashion show into her own little dance floor.

Fonda went all-in on color for the glamorous evening. She wore a bright red sequined dress with matching red pumps and finished the look with a bold red lip. But it wasn’t simply her outfit that commanded attention.

Instead of slowly making her way down the runway, the actress walked confidently, smiling broadly and clearly enjoying every second in front of the crowd. Her energy became an even bigger talking point once Kristen Bell entered the picture.

After finishing her own runway moment, Bell turned toward Fonda and made it obvious how impressed she was by the 88-year-old star. Seconds later, the two women were facing each other, holding hands and spontaneously dancing together in front of everyone.

There was nothing stiff or overly rehearsed about the moment. Fonda wasn’t attempting to pretend she was decades younger — she simply looked completely comfortable enjoying herself, heels and sequins included.

The actress has never been particularly shy about discussing aging. She previously admitted to having a facelift but has also said she doesn’t intend to undergo another one because she doesn’t want to look “distorted.”

Instead, Fonda has increasingly emphasized health, movement, sleep and enjoying life as she gets older. And in Paris, she didn’t need to make a speech about any of it. At 88, dancing on a runway in red heels made the point perfectly well.
