John Goodman made a striking appearance in Los Angeles, showing just how dramatically his appearance has changed after losing around 90 kilograms. The 74-year-old actor attended the premiere of “Digger” alongside his wife, Anna Beth, 57.
Goodman kept his red-carpet wardrobe traditional, arriving in a classic black suit. He paired it with a striped shirt, gray tie and black shoes, while his wife stood beside him in an elegant burgundy dress.

Yet it was the actor’s dramatically slimmer frame that immediately commanded attention. Goodman once weighed around 180 kilograms, making the difference between photographs from earlier stages of his career and his current appearance particularly striking.

His transformation followed years of personal struggles that Goodman has discussed openly. For nearly three decades, the actor battled alcohol addiction, including drinking while working on film sets. During that period, he also paid little attention to his eating habits.

Eventually, his weight and lifestyle began affecting his well-being, and Goodman realized that continuing down the same path was no longer an option.
“It was 30 years of a disease that took its toll not only on me, but on everyone around me,” he previously explained. “It got to the point where every time I drank, the disease became more and more debilitating. It was life or death. It was time to stop.”

Years later, his latest premiere appearance provided a dramatic visual reminder of just how far that journey has taken him. At 74, Goodman stepped in front of photographers roughly 90 kilograms lighter than at his heaviest.
