Man tamed the dog over 10 thousand years ago. In those days, it was a profitable exchange for survival. The dog received food and a warm home and the man received a guard, a shepherd and also a hunting companion. In the course of time dogs became an increasingly important part of human life. There appeared special service breeds that helped a person in many ways, for instance, they became guides for the blind people.

But what to do with a guide which has become blind itself and is now unable to carry out the tasks assigned to him? Many people would take such a dog to a shelter and will obtain another one, but Briton Graham Vesp decided to act differently.

A blind 59-year-old man has been living with a Labrador named Eddie for the past 6 years. The dog was trained so that it warned the owner about the dangers; a moving car, a branch hanging low, and so on.

The man and the dog became best friends in a short time. But a few years later, the doggy was diagnosed with cataracts. The pet began to rapidly lose his sight, and the veterinarians could not stop this process. At first, one eye went blind, and after a while the second one. Because of this problem it could not perform the functions of a guide.

Vesp took this situation very hard. Eddie became dear to him that’s why when relatives recommended taking the dog to a shelter where they would take care of it, the man refused.
And after some time it found a fine solution to this situation. The man took another guide, a two-year-old dog named Edward.

The new assistant has a more difficult role, because it drives not only the blind Vespa, but also Eddie.

By the way, the dogs immediately made friends. Edward looks after an older friend and plays with it with great pleasure.

Now Vesp is walking in the company of two wonderful dogs and may not definitely worry about his safety.
