Not only can people save animals which are in trouble, but also other animals who treat the victims as their friends. A family of meteorologists living on Lake Baikal found a seal on the shore, which didn’t move. It was taken to the station, where Nick’s husky joined the help. Most likely, the dog mistook the baby for a puppy, because it began to lick and care for it.
People rescued a seal cub on Lake Baikal and it made friends with a dog.

Meteorologists found a baby seal on one of the shores of Lake Baikal. The kid was found lying on the ground and it didn’t move. Then the family decided to take it to their meteorological station in order to help the baby. One of the meteorologists said that the seal was doing very badly;
“The found cub was in a state of deep sleep and didn’t react to anything. They tried to pour goat’s milk into its mouth, but it was done in vain – the cutie simply didn’t swallow.”
But it received help from an unexpected creature – from Nika the husky.

The seal was laid near the bathhouse, and Nika came up to it and had been licking the cuties for more than an hour, most likely mistaking the baby for a puppy. This made the patient wake up and open its eyes!
The meteorologists were very happy and they decided to give the kid some sliced fish, from the smell of which it finally came to its senses. As seals eat in water the food was put into an ordinary bath which was filled with water. At the same time, Nika didn’t leave its new relative even for a second.
According to the family, the nickname was created by itself, and the baby was named Umka.

The seal spent the night in the bathroom, and in the morning it got out of it on its own. Nick immediately began to lick the cutie. During the day, Umka was laid out on the stones to warm up, and then was sent to the bathroom for feeding again.
In the evening, the family made an attempt to return Umka to Baikal, and it even sailed half a kilometer, but returned back.

Both the people and the dog were very happy about this – Nika began to lick the seal again. It was fed again and left to spend the night at the house.
When the seal was brought to the shore again on the third day it swam away .

As Natalia told, Umka at first Umka didn’t want to leave its family again.
“It didn’t want to sail anywhere, although it was free. I even pushed it a little, so that it could swim, because the cutie likes it so much. Umka swam and soon disappeared from sight. Iy never returned to us again…”
Nika was sad, but soon found new interests for itself – domestic goats, which she now looks after. And we can be sure that it won’t offense them.
