On a winter evening, a forester whose name is Stephan heard sounds from the side of the fence and when he came out he saw a weak female wolf. He thought a little and brought some frozen meat for it, because the forest was unusually empty in winter and it became very difficult for the animals to find food.
The behavior of the beast surprised the forester very much. Predators live on their territory, hunt there and rarely go out to people, except in the case of severe hunger.

The female wolf began to come for food more often and the local residents even began to scold the forester because no one wanted to see a forest animal in the village. But Stephan did not pay attention to them and continued to feed the animals. He understood that if the wolf is hungry in winter, it becomes more dangerous both for the village and the villagers.
After a while, the wolf’s visits stopped. Everyone was happy except Stephan because he was already used to seeing guests and he was even a little bored.

Only two months later the forester heard a familiar roar outside the window. The man hurried into the yard and saw that the female wolf had returned and had brought two more younger members of their pack with it. The animals silently looked at Stephan.
Suddenly the forester realized that most likely the female wolf was feeding the young wolf cubs with the meat that he had given it all winter. And now the whole pack has moved to a new place and the wolf has come to say goodbye. Stephan was right – since then no wolves have been seen in the area.
