A photographer from Florida whose name is Laurie Wolfe noticed that an owl had moved into her backyard. She always loved animals and even arranged a special place for birds to nest and just one of these was occupied by an owl. The girl expected the owlets to hatch soon.
After a couple of days she decided to check the nest and found a fluffy lump there, but, surprisingly enough the chick wasn’t an owlet there. The caring owl decided to warm a little black and yellow duckling under his wing. Laurie was worried that a predatory owl might eat a duckling and therefore asked a bird specialist about it who said that her fears were very appropriate.
The staff of the reserve took up the upbringing of the duckling. However, the attempt to catch him was unsuccessful, because the cub fled to a nearby reservoir and after a while returned to the nest and even called his parents there. He probably liked the dwelling equipped by the hostess.
How the duckling got into the owl’s nest still remains a mystery. Laurie shared that a bird of prey recently attacked a family of ducks living nearby and then one of the birds decided to hide them in a safe nest and by this chance the owl and the duckling became relatives.
