A joyful event happened in one of the largest American zoos which cooperates with an institute for the study and protection of the sloth population։ an 8-year-old female sloth named Lighting was pregnant. The dad of the future cubs was an adult 21-year-old sloth whose name is Mo. He was born in the forest but a short time later he became an orphan and was later rescued and taken to the zoo.
Mo is quite a rare species of sloth so his offspring will be especially valuable. What is the most interesting fact about these animals is that they eat, mate, fall asleep and even give birth in limbo. When the baby is born he grabs the mother’s fur, crawls to her and feeds only on milk for 10 days.
Then the cutie begins to gradually taste solid food and some time when he is about one month old the cub begins to hang on his own.
Lightning decided to prepare herself for the role of a mother and for this purpose she was given a soft toy sloth. She had already begun to hug the toy like her own child. From time to time the zoo employees take the toy sloth and then return it to the future mom.
