Having lived all her life on the street, the tricolor catty finally found herself at home with her eight kittens. Goodbye street life.
In early September those people who weren’t indifferent found a stray cat with her three-month-old kittens and delivered the catties to Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals which is an animal rights centre.
While the kitty was taking care of her children on the street she managed to become pregnant again.
“She’s been homeless all her life and she was covered in fleas when we first met her,” says Angela Su who is an overexposure volunteer.
A few days after the rescue the catty started laboring and the eight kittens were born far from the dangers of street life.
The mother catty urgently needed overexposure where she could take care of the newborns. Angela took in a family of nine preparing a comfortable room for them.
“At first, she was feeling a little anxious in my house because she has been living on the street all her life and a lot of things were new to her here,” says Angela.
A comfortable bed, soft blankets and lots pf conveniences made Celeste look at her foster mother favorably.
“It is so hard to be a mother of eight cuties but she loves her children so much. Celeste is very patient and her kittens are always very clean and well-fed,” adds Angela.
The nice tricolor kitty dropped her clamps and began to look for affection. Now she knows that she isn’t alone.
The eight cubs are becoming more and more active day by day. They are almost three weeks old and everyone’s eyes have opened and little by little they are beginning to walk. “
“Kittens at this age rely on their sense of smell to navigate the world. They may often hiss instinctively when they smell something unfamiliar. “
If one of the fuzzies starts crying calling for Celeste the others also join the chorus, so Mom doesn’t have to relax.
Now the little cuties are filled with strength and they begin to explore and experience the world around them.
As soon as they are old enough their mother will be sterilized – she will retire happily from motherhood.
Having wandered all her life, Celeste is enjoying a new stage in her life and her role as a domestic cat.
