A family from California shared an amazing story that happened in early November last year. One day the family members heard some strange loud sounds coming from the basement which was located under the house.
After looking around they understood that a very large animal was hiding there. Most likely it is a bear.
It turned out that one of the local bears was looking for a place in order to spend winter there. The animal decided that there was an excellent den in front of him and settled there. Of course, the owners of the house immediately contacted the rescuers and it turned out that bears often come to houses in winter.
Such cozy places are ideal for animals for spending their winters there. A basement or any other shelter under a house reminds bears of a cave. It is quiet, dry and dark enough so it isn’t surprising that the animals are hiding there.
After a few hours, people noticed that the loud sounds had died down and they thought that the furry creature had left but it turned out that the bear was still there! In the middle of the night, the noise was heard again and it became clear that the poor man had been accidentally locked up. The family was uncomfortable because of the fact that they caused inconvenience to the animal.
But, fortunately, the next day the rescuers arrived to help the bear.
I had to make some noise using a special instrument that makes loud sounds so that the animal was frightened and crawled out of the shelter. But our bear didn’t react to this for some reason.
But after a few minutes, he himself climbed out of the basement, looked around and deciding that this place was too crowded for wintering the cutie went in search of another den.
The most interesting thing is that the rescuers recognized the animal because he was repeatedly seen next to the Mexican restaurants – he loves to feast on leftovers finding them in garbage cans.
There are many bears who live in the vicinity of Tahoe, so the locals aren’t surprised by such visits. And the rescuers are always ready to help people if someone sets up a den in a “wrong” place.
