Guy Ritchie, a well-known British filmmaker, first became famous for his crime comedies about London’s criminal world, including movies like “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” “Snatch,” and “RocknRolla.” In recent years, he has moved on to directing big-budget hits like “Sherlock Holmes,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” and “Aladdin.”
Born in 1968 in Hatfield, England, Ritchie’s early life was shaped by his parents’ separation when he was just five years old. His father, a top executive in an advertising company, remarried a model and baroness. Meanwhile, his mother married a baronet and moved into a historic estate.
As a teenager, Ritchie faced challenges with dyslexia and left a special school. After watching the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” he found his passion for filmmaking. This led him to a film studio, where he started out as a courier. Instead of going to college, Ritchie focused on making lively and unique films.
Ritchie is also a serious martial artist, keeping in shape through Brazilian jiu-jitsu. In 2015, he earned a black belt from Renzo Gracie. In his free time, he enjoys fishing. He met Madonna through their mutual friend, musician Sting, and they had a private Scottish-themed wedding in 2000.
Their son, Rocco, was born in 2001. However, by 2008, Guy and Madonna decided to go their separate ways because they had different life goals.
Ritchie later described their marriage as a “circus act.” The divorce left Ritchie financially better off, and in the spring of 2009, he met model Jacqui Ainsley. Together, they had three children.
Their wedding was a private event, attended by close family, including Ritchie’s son with Madonna.
