After a six-year break, Adele made her return to the music scene. In the fall of 2021, she released her album 30, which she dedicated to the emotions she experienced during her difficult divorce from her husband, businessman Simon Konecki.

Just days after its release, the album became the best-selling record in the United States.

Adele now has more than 100 awards to her name, including an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the 007: Skyfall soundtrack, along with fifteen Grammy Awards.

Despite her massive success, Adele has decided to take a break from her career and focus on something else—studying.

“I really want to earn a degree in English literature. It’s my passion. Even though I don’t plan to work in the field, I regret not going to university after high school. I’m sad I missed out on that experience,” Adele told The Washington Post.

She will be taking online classes and plans to earn her degree by 2025, though the institution where she’ll study is still unknown.

Adele has often spoken about her love for English literature, which began thanks to her school teacher.

“If music hadn’t worked out for me, I think I would have made a great literature teacher,” Adele added.

Adele was born in London and started exploring music while still in school. Later, she attended the London School of Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, where famous artists like Leona Lewis and Amy Winehouse also studied.
