A neighbor on one side has been breeding piglets for a long time. After a long time he did not do it for a long time, but this year he decided to start breeding again.
Interestingly, his old pig pen was at the end of the plot, far away from ours and his house. He did not inconvenience anyone there, as there was a small forest behind the plot and a river further away.
But for some reason he decided to put the new pen right next to the fence, and even on the side of our house! It is clear that it was more convenient for him. But you can imagine what discomfort 30 pigs caused us.
Of course, we first tried to talk to the neighbor and his wife about how much trouble their pigs had caused us, at least morally. But they didn’t listen to us. They pretended that they didn’t understand why we were outraged, because we were city dwellers and we just needed something to pick on.
We did not know how to get out of the situation without conflict, so we silently watched our neighbor’s economic activities. One month was enough for the problem to resolve itself.
Behind the pen, the piglets dug a loophole under the fence into our yard. And one day, there were eight piglets running around our plot at once. They managed to break the flowerbeds and overturn the swing. But that’s not the most interesting thing.
The most interesting thing was that our alabai got through the gap to the neighbors on the plot. There was a lot of noise at that time. Once all the animals were in their territories and were securely locked up, the neighbor himself came to apologize. He also said he would start moving the pen to another location tomorrow.
That’s how a few piglets and their one action helped us to solve the problem without scandals. And the neighbor even now feels guilty.
