I Judged My Cousin for Putting a Towel on Her Stove—Then I Learned the Truth Behind Her Genius Trick

Visited my cousin and saw something strange—a towel covering her stove  ⛑💥 At first, I thought she’d lost her mind, but after hearing the reason, I ran home to do the same 😄 Turns out, this simple trick solves a problem everyone has faced at least once. I’ll explain everything in detail  in the article below 👇

Once I went to see my cousin and saw something really interesting: she had put a towel over her stove. At first, I was confused, but when she explained why she did this, I started doing it too! Now, I’m sharing this tip along with some of my own tricks.

Why this trick is effective:

If you have a glass-ceramic stove: put regular table vinegar (9%) on the stove’s surface and cover it completely with a towel. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. The towel will stop the vinegar from drying out, allowing it to soften the grime. Afterward, just clean off the dirt with a wet sponge.

If you have a regular stove: first, sprinkle baking soda over the dirty areas. Then spray some vinegar onto the baking soda and quickly cover it with a damp towel. The reaction between baking soda and vinegar loosens all the grease and dirt. Then simply wipe the stove clean using a damp sponge and finish off by drying it with another sponge.

An extra tip: baking powder can be used in place of baking soda. Put a bit of baking powder on the stains, add a little vinegar, and cover with a towel for about 5-10 minutes. Then wipe the stove clean—this method works wonderfully!

My recommendations:

1. If the smell of vinegar is too strong for you, add a few drops of lemon or lavender essential oil. This helps remove dirt and leaves a nice smell in the kitchen.

2. To keep your stove tidy between deep cleanings, use wet wipes designed to remove grease. They work especially well for fresh spills and stains.

3. After cleaning your stove each time, lightly apply some cooking oil with a kitchen paper towel. This forms a protective barrier that prevents dirt from sticking so quickly.

Give these tips a try, and your stove will always look sparkling clean!
