When we moved into our new house, we brought along all of our old furniture. But over time, we realized that not everything fit well with the fresh look of our new space.
Some items were too worn out or just didn’t match the style anymore, so we let them go without regret. But a few pieces, though old, were still strong and clearly had more life in them.
One of those was a small cabinet that had been next to our bed for many years. Its structure was solid, but it clearly looked outdated.
Instead of throwing it out, we decided to update it and give it a second life.
How We Gave It a New Look
During the makeover, we kept the original legs. They were still sturdy and added a nice, classic touch to the cabinet.
We left part of the wood in its natural brown color and added some wax to bring out the wood grain and give it a fresh shine.
The cabinet doors were painted in a soft beige tone that fit perfectly with the modern interior of our home.
We also replaced the old handles. In their place, we installed two half-circle wooden pulls in a rich brown shade.
This mix of warm dark wood and lighter tones gave the cabinet a soft contrast that looked both simple and elegant.
The Final Result
In the end, the cabinet became a beautiful and useful piece of furniture once again. It now fits right in with our updated space, keeping its charm and memories—just with a fresh new look.
